This is the final of four insomnia doodles that I started all in the same night late last week. This is the last one that I started to work on, and the only one that began with an idea in mind. The other three started as random shapes and lines that I built on until they had some semblance of character, but this one started with the concept of “an explorer wearing a helmet.” The first shape I drew was a circle — the helmet — and then I followed with shapes, lines, and patterns…all with the intention of creating some kind of explorer wearing a helmet. At some point I will try coloring all of these, and maybe I’ll even write stories about all of them.
