I’ve created and co-created a lot of characters, but The Monster of Blackenstyne (not to be confused with Blackenstein) is one of my all-time favorites. Here are some original character designs, drawn by me. The inks were done by Aaron Beatty. This is the first draft of my script for NIGHTHAWK #1…but it is not the actual first issue. Rather, this version of the script/story is very different from how it started. In fact, ever issue of this series went through a lot of changes at various points in time. You can see some of those changes here on certain pages. At some point, I’ll post a video about each issue of NIGHTHAWK, which was a very stressful series for me to write. But for now, I hope you enjoy the script. Working on Reklaw the Ravager #1 with art by Christian Meesey. The first issue is completely drawn, and the art is amazing…the problem is my writing (four pages in particular). Sometimes, you don’t know that the writing isn’t working until it’s been drawn. Then you have to make some tough decisions. I’m currently trying to rewrite these four pages, using the existing art, and hopefully not need anything redrawn. It’s a challenge…but this is my most personal project to date, and I can’t half-ass it. Look for more updates regarding Reklaw the Ravager soon.
