The Monster of Blackenstyne

Original painting of the Monster of Blackenstyne (not to be confused with Blackenstein) by the phenomenal artist Robert Tanenbaum. Robert did the art for some of my favorite movie posters, including Detroit 9000, Battle for the Planet of the Apes, and Hell Up in Harlem. I’m honored to have him do an original piece featuring one of my favorite characters. Look for more announcements regarding the Monster of Blackenstyne (not to be confused with Blackenstein) soon.

One of My Favorite Characters…

I’ve created and co-created a lot of characters, but The Monster of Blackenstyne (not to be confused with Blackenstein) is one of my all-time favorites. Here are some original character designs, drawn by me. The inks were done by Aaron Beatty. I’m currently working on a one-shot comic starring The Monster, which will also include an amazing gallery of pin-ups by some of the most incredible artists you’ve ever seen?

The Monster of Blackenstyne (not to be confused with Blackenstein)

The Monster of Blackenstyne (not to be confused with Blackenstein) is a short story that was done for an anthology called Shook (published by Dark Horse). I essentially did this story as a proof-of-concept, to see if the basic narrative worked. I’m currently working on a one-shot comic that will expand the story, and make you all fall in love with the Monster of Blackenstyne (not to be confused with Blackenstein).
